A NICE EARLY MORNING ON THE BEACH…….

Today we will be starting our Project a little later. Part of the Team (Aran, Jessica, April, Sasha and myself) decided to wake up early, have breakfast, and head over to the beach. Our hotel is in Ocean Park and we are only a few blocks from it. Below is a picture of our view as we sit and soak a little sun.

VIDAS

In the picture below we are engaging Children who are in the VIDAS program. The project today was about teaching children to eat and enjoy fresh produce. The Team divided into three stations to show the children different ways to eat or drink fruits and vegetables.

Interactive activities included Salad and dressing making, Veggie wraps, and fruit smoothies.

VIDAS caters to the children of underaged mothers, low income families, single mothers or fathers, and unemployed parents. They also have a program dedicated to children who are hiv positive. VIDAS stands for "Vidas Intregrada a Dios con Accion y Servicios"…… OR…… Lives In Active Service to God.

It was truly a touching and most rewarding day to interact with children ages 3-6.

Onward to VIEQUES

The Team woke up bright and early this morning to travel to Ceiba – Roosevelt Roads (an hour away) in order to catch a 7am flight. From this location we are flying out of a military base on a 12 seater prop plane to the Island of Vieques.
